U. S. Border Patrol agents fatally shot a man following a vehicle pursuit.

The incident occurred late Friday night near Campo , California. Details are still sketchy but initial information from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department , Border Patrol agents had pursued a vehicle to the area of Campo Road near Buckman Springs Road when a confrontation occurred and Border Patrol agents fired , striking the driver and fatally wounding him. Two other people in the vehicle were not injured. The Border Patrol has not released information on why the vehicle was chased. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing with U.S.Customs and Border Protection , the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Homicide Department participating.
