An El Centro Police officer stopped a car for speeding and that led to a big drug bust.
On Thursday the ECPD officer made the traffic stop and noticed four duffel bags in the rear of the sport utility vehicle. Canine Jax was called to the scene and alerted to the vehicle and the duffle bags. A search of the SUV and the bags led to the discovery of 268 pounds of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested and charged with felony transportation of a controlled substance. No information on whether he got the speeding ticket as well.
