El Centro Police were notified that a red Honda Accord had been stolen from a local hotel parking lot Tuesday morning.

The cars owner told police that his cellphone app showed the car was in the parking lot of a shopping center on Danenberg Road. Police responded to the area and were able to locate the car in front of the Ross Department Store. Police kept the unoccupied car under surveillance and where then able to contact the suspect who was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail on several charges including Grand Theft Auto.
