The California State Legislature has announced the annual " Woman of the Year " celebration will return in March.

State Senator Ben Hueso says the awards will honor woman of all ages , backgrounds and interests , who are passionate about and committed to empowering and improving their communities. The Senator is inviting 40t District residents to nominate women leaders who reside in , or have significantly contributed to , the 40th Senate District. The usual in-person event will not be held at the Capitol in Sacramento but the Legislative Women's Caucus will produce a framed certificate for each honoree as well as a commemorative booklet highlighting the honorees as tokens of appreciation.
