The California Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run accident reported early Monday morning.

The accident was reported at about 5:39 a.m. on Cady Road west of Forrester Road. A vehicle ran into a utility pole and then fled the scene. The utility pole was left leaning with wires hanging. Imperial Irrigation District crews were working of making repairs. A suspect vehicle was located 2 hours later on a dirt road about 5 miles from the scene of the accident.
