(President signs Appropriations and Coronavirus Relief Legislation)....There is more than Appropriations and Coronavirus relief.
The Legislation contained Unemployment funding, Military funding, funding to keep the Government in operation and more. Some of that more include several provisions to drive federal action at the Salton Sea. The legislation advances key SSA efforts to increase federal investment in the Salton Sea region. While the federal government has significant interests in the Salton Sea, it has not been a major funding partner in state and local revitalization efforts. The new legilsation includes an important new Water Resources Development Act that authorizes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to conduct a feasibility study of the Salton Sea Perimeter Lake. The study is a pre-requisite to obtaining significant Corps' construction funding for the Preimeter Lake, an integral part of the State of California's Salton Sea Management Program 10 year plan.
