A Yuma woman died in a Friday morning traffic accident.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office , the accident occurred at 6:41 a.m. in the 9500 block of S. Fortuna Road. A pickup truck was northbound on Fortuna Road when it crossed over the centerline and collided with a southbound car. The driver of the car , 36-year old Rosa Covarrubias , sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the pick up was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
