Caltrans and the CHP have issued a Travelers Advisory for high profile vehicles on Interstate 8 from Ocotillo and Alpine.

Winds gusting up to 50 mph are expected on the grade and through the passes tonight through 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.  The National Weather Service says localized gusts in the backcountry could hit 70 mph. 
Meanwhile aRed Flag Warning is in effect until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday due to the high winds and low humidity. San Diego Gas and Electric is expecting to institute power shutdowns to lessen the risk of wildfires.
