The California Supreme Court has denied a petition to review the Abatti v. Imperial Irrigation District case.

The state Supreme Court said that they will not review the decision of the Fourth District Court of Appeal that tossed out most of the rulings by Imperial County Superior Court Judge L. Brooks Anderholt on water rights in the Valley. IID Board President Norma Sierra Galindo said , " I am obviously pleased with the Supreme Court's announcement that it will not be reviewing the appellate decision in this case."  Galindo went on to say , "According to the state Supreme Court , the Fourth District Court of Appeal got it right when it found that the IID was the sole owner of the Imperial Valley's water rights  , and the people own the IID."
