(6 year old shot)....It happened Saturday.

Details were reported on social media. The child went on an outing with her family They had gone to an area known as Wienie Bank near Holtville. Gunshots could be heard from the area the family was at. That evening as the family was roasting marshmallows, six year old Ximena Martinez was shot in the head. The child was rushed to Pioneers Memorial Hospital, as her father called police. At PMH, it was discovered the bullet had not penetrated the childs skull. She was transpoirted to Children's Hospital in San Diego as a precaution. By Sunday she was home in Imperial Valley. Her parents would still like to know who was responsible for shooting their daughter, but most of all they are grateful the incident was not as tragic as it could have been.
