By Tuesday, Imperial County should have clear skies. This is because great headway has been made in the Valley Fire. The latest report on the fire near Alpine indicates the fire is now 87 percent contained. The fire was started September 5th as a result of a tractor fire near Japatul. It has burned 17, 665 acres. It has damaged 11 structures and destroyed 61 others. Officials report 3 injuries. There is no information as to the extent of those injuries. At the current rate, full containment could come some time tonight or tomorrow.
