(Rolling Black-outs)...They were not as bad as they could have been.
At the beginning of the Labor Day Weekend heat wave, the Imperial Irrigation District warned of possible rotating power outages. They asked residents to conserve as much electricity as possible. Saturday, the District was forced to initiate rotating outages after CAISO failed to deliver a promised electric delivery. However, Marilyn del Bosque Gilbert, IID's Energy Manager, said consumrs stepped up with conservation measures and no rotating power outages were necessary Sunday or Monday. High temeratures are expected to drop this week, but IID says they will continue to closely monitor the situation and will communicate with its customers should another Flex Alert be issued.
