(Convicted felon arrested)….He was found early Saturday morning

. The man was arrested about 20 miles west of the Calexico Downtown Port of Entry. The Mexican National had entered the country illegally. He was taken to a rally point for processing. During the criminal check, they found that the 35 year old had been arrested in 2009 for attempted murder in Santa Barbara. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The man had also been convicted of sexual battery in 2007, also in Santa Barbara. He had been deported in 2007. The man was being held in Federal custody pending further criminal prosecution.
