(Imperial County Strike Team)…They have been sent to help in the Apple Fire.

The Team consists of five engines and 20 personnel from Calipatria, Centinela State Prison, Holtville, El Centro and Imperial County Fire Departments. They join the 2,565 firefighters on scene. The Apple Fire in Riverside County began July 31 and has burned 28,850 acres as of the Tuesday morning report. The fire has destroyed 12 structures and one injury has been reported. As of Tuesday morning the fire was 15 percent contained.
