U. S. Border Patrol agents arrested an MS-13 gang member Monday morning.

Agents found the man about 29 miles west of Calexico after he had illegally crossed the border. A records check determined the man , a 45-year old El Salvadorian , was a documented Mara Salvatrucha ( MS-13 ) member with a criminal history. He is being held in federal custody pending criminal prosecution.
