(ECRMC adding another ICU)…It will be the third at the hospital.

El Centro Regional Medical Center CEO Dr. Adolphe Edward gave a hospital update on social media. Most of the update was the addition of the new Intensive Care Unit. Edward said the new ICU will expand the hospitals capabilities He said the outdoor ICU unit would b complete and functional within the next few days. The Unit is composed of two different tents set up to connect into one unit. The first unit will be for the obese individuals and will contain five beds. The CEO said ach bed will have all the monitors, oxygen, electricity and cardiac monitors required to accommodate an ICU, as well as ventilators to have the beds fully operational. The larger area will accommodate 28 nurses and 14 respiratory therapists to car for 10 patients. Dividers will b placed between each bed. The CEO said they have already contacted several agencies that are going to try to help them with the staffing.
