The Imperial County Administration Building in downtown El Centro has closed for the remainder of the day.
The County has closed the building after learning that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The entire building will be closed for the rest of Monday for disinfection even though the employee worked only in a specific area. All operations will resume Tuesday.
Many county departments have been closed to the public since the social distancing practices were mandated and others have reduced hours of operation or are open by appointment only. Physical distancing guidelines have been instituted for all ongoing operations in the county and many employees continue to work from home.
