(Juneteenth celebrated over the weekend)…The Imperial County event was held at the El Centro Community Center.

June 19th is the date the last slaves were freed following the Civil War. The State recognized event has been held off and on in Imperial County for the past several years. This year’s event included reenactments and a lot of historical information.
