(Bicycle safety. Now more than ever)…That from the California Highway Patrol.
Throughout May, National Bicycle Safety Month, The California Highway Patrol and the Office of Traffic Safety, are joining forces to remind everyone to share the road safely and courteously. Since the Stay At Home directive brought on by the COVID 19 pandemic, many people in California have taken to their bicycles for exercise and a change of scenery. CHP Commissioner Warren Stanley says Bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists must stay alert to keep everyone safe. Because of the pandemic traditional Bike Safety events have been curtailed, but CHP officers are still giving out helmets to children who do not have one. Parents should contact the nearest CHP office to obtain information on how they can get a free helmet.
