The California Highway Patrol reported a women fell off a bus near Slab City Thursday afternoon.
The CHP says a 1999 International Bus RV was being driven by 48-year old Ryan Haala of Minneapolis , Minnesota. The bus was northbound at about 10 mph on Highline Canal Road near Niland. A passenger , 25-year old woman , Tyler McCreedy of Slab City , climbed through aa access door to the roof of the bus. McCreedy lost her balance and fell from the top of the vehicle and landed on the ground. McCreedy sustained major injuries , blunt force trauma , and was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. The driver , Haala , was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail on charges of felony driving under the influence.
