The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Imperial and Yuma Valleys.

According to NWS , a significant warming trend will continue through the weekend as a ridge of high pressure aloft continues to strengthen. Temperatures Saturday could reach 101 degrees with Sunday's high expected at 105. The Weather Service says temperatures in excess of 100 will remain through next week. Night time temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 60's to low 70's.
