(Fatal injury collision)…The collision occurred Friday.

The California Highway Patrol says it happened on Highway 98, west of Interstate 8. The CHP says a 31 year old Yuma resident was driving a 2006 Lexus eastbound on Highway 98. 32 year old Robert Bache of Somerton was driving a Ford pickup westbound on the Highway. For undetermined reasons, the Lexus drove into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with the pickup. The driver of the Lexus suffered fatal injuries. The identity of the driver has not been released. Bache reported pain to his face. A third vehicle came upon the collision, hit some debris and rolled. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. The Highway Patrol and the County Coroner’s office are investigating the fatal injury collision.
