U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of San Luis were very busy Wednesday.
Over half-million dollars worth of cocaine was found in an SUV driven by a 43-year old woman. More than 49 pounds of the drug were found hidden in a floor compartment of the SUV. The woman was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
That same day , officers working southbound traffic , encountered a Dodge truck. Officers searched the vehicle and found 300 rounds of ammunition , mostly .50 caliber , hidden throughout the truck. Two men , a 19-year old San Diego resident and a 21-year old from San Luis Rio Colorado , Sonora , were arrested and turned over to agents of the U. S. Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms and Explosives.
