(Four arrested in narcotics operation)…The arrests were made Friday.
The suspects were in court Monday. Border Patrol agents reportedly tracked an ultra-light aircraft as it flew across the International Border near Calexico. Agents followed the aircraft as it flew across the Imperial County, stopping at the North Shore of the Salton Sea. The agents witnessed two off road vehicles driving away from the area. Border Patrol agents stopped one of the vehicles, but the other one fled. The pursuit ended after the off-road vehicle crashed into the Coachella canal. The two occupants were taken into custody. The agents also recovered 26 small containers stuffed with methamphetamine and GPS devices. Arrested were 28 year old Victor Bugarin Perez and 28 year old Leonardo Iturriaga Centeno, both Riverside County residents, and 25 year old Juan Favela Paredez and 33 year old Juan Carlos Iturriaga Centeno, both residents of Mexico and in the United States illegally. The US Attorney’s Office says the four were arraigned on the charges Monday.
