(CHP releases report)…It is on a fatal injury incident.
The incident occurred Sunday over the Thanksgiving Day Weekend. The Highway Patrol says they received a call at 6:40 pm. The call reported a collision on Eastbound Interstate 8, east of Bonds Corner. A vehicle had collided into the rear of a motor-home. The initial information indicated both vehicles were on fire and there were possible fatalities. County Sheriff’s deputies were the first on-scene and made contact with the occupants of the motor-home. CHP units arrived on-scene and found both vehicles fully engulfed in flames. County fire arrived and extinguished the fire. The Highway Patrol says both vehicles were completely destroyed. The 5 occupants of the motor-home suffered minor injuries and were transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Cadillac that had collided with the motor-home, suffered fatal injuries. His identity has not been confirmed. It is believed he was from Glendale, Arizona. The occupants of the motor-home are from Peoria, Arizona. The eastbound lanes of Interstate 8 were shutdown for about 30 minutes. The collision remains under investigation.
