A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the mountain areas of Southern California.
The National Weather Service says the warning is in effect from 4:00 a.m. Wednesday through 10:00 p.m. Friday. The NWS says that heavy snow is expected. Travel will be difficult to impossible Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day. Total snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches between 4,000 and 4,500 feet , 6 to 18 inches from 4,500 to 5,500 feet , and from 1 to 3 feet above 5,500 feet. Snowfall below 4,000 feet of 1 to 3 inches , mostly late Thursday through Friday. Strong winds , with gusts of 50 to 70 mph along the ridges and desert slopes. Widespread fog is also possible.
