(Assemblyman presents grants)…Not only to the county, but to the City of Brawley, as well.
Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia was at the County Board of Supervisors Tuesday meeting. He presented the County with a $4.5 million grant from the California Department of Housing and Community Development, Community Block Grant program. The funds will be used for a Public safety Facility in Seeley, water system improvements in Palo Verde and housing projects. Garcia recognized Esperanza Colio Warren and other county staff who actually pursued and obtained the grant funds. Also at the meeting, the Assemblyman presented a $500,000 grant to the City of Brawley. It is the first ever Strategic Growth Council Grant and it will be used for neighborhood rehabilitation in Brawley.
