(Assemblyman to name his Veteran of the Year)…Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia will make the announcement Thursday.
The Veteran’s Recognition Ceremony will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Imperial beginning at 11:00 am. During the ceremony Assemblyman Garcia will name Tracy Rascoe as the 56th Assembly District 2019 Veteran of the Year. Rascoe served in the US Navy from 1986 to 1996, Navy reserve from 1999 to 2001, and Army reserve from 2001 to 2011. After his service he joined the renewable energy industry in wind power. He and his wife moved to Imperial County in 2012, joining the Boyce Aten Post 25 in El Centro. He was elected Post Commander in 2013. After two years he moved up 30th District, Imperial County, Vice Commander and Commander. This past year Rascoe was elected as the American Legion Department of California Vice Commander, Area 5, serving Imperial, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego and Riverside Counties. Rascoe currently serves as junior Past Vice Commander, Area 5, 30th District Judge Advocate and as Executive Board Member for the Boyce Aten American Legion Post 25. He was recently selected to be one of the 7 members of the newly formed DOC Training committee to develop training to assist the 442 American Legion DOC Post.
