The National Weather Service ( NWS ) says the Imperial Valley may get some rain.
A weather briefing by the NWS indicates a strong disturbance will descend towards Arizona early this week that will combine with residual moisture and yield a period of unsettled weather. Strong to severe storms may develop over southern parts of Arizona as early as Sunday evening with rainfall amounts as much as 1 inch per hour in some locations. According to the NWS forecast the chances for precipitation in the Imperial Valley are 20% starting Monday night and continuing through Wednesday night. Daytime temperatures are predicted to be in the upper 90's with overnight lows near 70. Winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph are expected.
