Reclamation selected the projects to receive $287,175 to improve water efficiency and reliability. The Bureau of Reclamation chose the projects for small scale grants. The grants will help the water entities use water more efficiently and improve water supply reliability. Selected in the WaterSmart program was the Bard Water District in Winterhaven. They will receive $75,000 to line 2,125 feet of the southeastern portion of the earthen Acoma Lateral with concrete. The Bard District will receive another $75,000 to concrete line the northwest portion of the same Lateral. The Imperial Irrigation District will receive $62,175 to purchase new irrigation flow measurement equipment to upgrade outdated equipment. The 4th grant went to the Rancho California Water District in Temecula.
