(Governor Gavin Newsom touring the state)….He is visiting Community Colleges in select locations.
The Governor is touting his program of two years of tuition free Community College to eligible students. It is being offered basically to first time Community College students. The program was in the new state budget approved this summer. The budget also includes $9 million for college students who are homeless or experiencing housing insecurity, $5 million to support veteran resource centers at community colleges, and a onetime increase of $4.75 million to support workforce development programs at some community colleges.
