(Sheriff’s Office to add two positions)….They will be limited term positions.
They will not cost the county anything. Sheriff Ray Loera told the Board of Supervisors the position would be paid for through a Federal Stonegarden Grant. The grant is anticipated to be almost $123,000. The County Board agreed the funds could be used to hire two Sheriff Service Officers, classified as limited term. The Service Officers will be investigating the issuance of certain documents, maintain files and records, compile data and activity reports, and prepare reports as required. This will include the inputting of Stonegarden stats into the federal homeland security investigations network, and more.
