(Supervisors pass out scholarships)…31 Scholarship certificates.

At their meeting Tuesday, the County Board of Supervisors presented scholarships totaling $63,000. 19 students pursuing majors in agriculture related fields were on-hand to receive their certificates. The scholarship funds were made possible through the Imperial County Agricultural Benefit Program that was established to mitigate losses to agriculture production, agriculture jobs and the local economy resulting from renewable energy development on farmland in Imperial County. A portion of the Ag Benefit Program funding has been designated to scholarship awards.
