A multi-agency active shooter exercise will be held Thursday on the campus of Imperial Valley College.
The Imperial County Sheriff's Office , Imperial County Fire Department , El Centro Regional Medical Center , Pioneers Memorial Hospital and other Imperial Valley law enforcement agencies will participate in the exercise. The exercise will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a full campus lockdown which will last about 15 minutes. Law enforcement and other first responders will run through a series of different scenarios in the vicinity of the 3200 building throughout the morning. Except during the initial lockdown , the rest of the campus will not be involved. Traffic will be restricted on the perimeter road to the 3200 building until 1:00 p.m. and the Aten Road entrance to the campus , just west of the main entrance stoplight on Aten , will be closed until 1:00 p.m. when the exercise ends.
