(SDSU/IV Commencement)…It is tonight.

The 59th annual commencement ceremony starts at 7:00 pm on the Campus’s Rollie Carrillo Quad. A total of 333 students will receive bachelor’s degrees and 29 will receive preliminary teaching credentials. The commencement speaker will be U.S. Magistrate Judge Ruth Bermudez Montenegro. SDSU President Adela de la Torre well also address the graduates. California State University Trustee Dr. Silas Abrego will attend the ceremony. Three students will be honored for special achievements. Daniela Garcia from Calexico will receive the award for Academic Excellence. Chelsea Lee Castaneda from Holtville will be named Outstanding Graduate for her academic work and service to the campus and community. David Herndon, Marine Corps veteran and native of Detroit, Michigan will be recognized as the Public Administration program’s Outstanding Graduate for both the Imperial Valley and San Diego Campus’s.
