(Air Pollution returns to Calexico)…Two Air Quality Alerts have been issued.

The first Alert was issued at 1:00 Thursday morning. The second Alert was issued at 9:00 Thursday morning. Both were for very high levels of PM 2.5 recorded at the Ethel Street monitoring station in Calexico. The latest Alert indicated Air Quality in Calexico was Unhealthy. People most affected by high levels of PM 2.5 are those with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children. It is recommended they avoid prolonged or heavy exertion, and they stay indoors until the levels of particulate matter are much lower.
