The latest numbers available are for December 2018. The December jobless rate was listed at 17.3 percent. That is down from the revised 18.1 percent in November, but above the year ago estimate of 17 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.1 percent in the state and 3.7 percent for the nation during the same period. Imperial County had the highest unemployment rate for December in the state. According to the report, there were 13,000 eligible workers unemployed in December out of a Labor Force of 75,400.
