The Imperial County Department of Social Services ( DSS ) will host a second assistance event for Federal employees.

On Tuesday , January 22, 2019 , Federal employees who have been furloughed or a working without pay as a result of the partial government shutdown , are encouraged to attend the event at the DSS offices at  2895 S. 4th Street in El Centro between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

DSS officials will be on hand as well as representatives of other agencies  including the Employment Development Department , Imperial Irrigation District , Inland Fair Housing  , First Imperial Credit Union and Sun Community Federal Credit Union. Various local water districts will also be available. Information will be provided to assist with basic needs , loan deferments , utility bills and unemployment benefits.
