When the state first approved a minimum wage increase. That increase was to go up to $15.00 per hour, but not all at once. The increase is in increments. January 1st the minimum wage will increase to $12.00 per hour. The Board of Supervisors had pledged to maintain a minimum wage for county employees higher than the state minimum. Tuesday the Board agreed to adjust the minimum wage for County employees at $12.24 per hour, beginning January 1st, 2019.
