(Border Patrol agents assaulted)…It was reported Friday evening.
Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents discovered tracks of an illegal border crossing near the Andrade Port of Entry. The agents called in assistance from a CBP Air and Marine Helicopter. They followed the tracks for about a mile, and found a person up a tree. That person set the tree on fire, and pelted the agents with rocks. He even threw rocks at the helicopter. Nobody was hurt. They got the man down from the tree. He claimed to be a member of the caravan of Central Americans seeking asylum in the United States. A records check determined the suspect was a 31 year old Honduran Native in the United States illegally. They also found the man had several previous arrests out of Florida and had been deported from the US in June of this year. Officials say the man will be presented for prosecution and removal proceedings.
