(County has a new budget)…It was approved Tuesday by the County Board of Supervisors.
By approving the spending plan for the 2018-19 fiscal year, the county is able to submit a balanced budget to the state, before the October deadline. The Supervisors were presented a budget Tuesday that contained a $6.2 million deficit. Revenues were at $259, 586, 445.00. Expenditures were at $274,957,702.00. The deficit was reconciled by transferring funds from Behavioral Health Realignment, Public Health Realignment, Public Agency Retirement Services and Welfare Advance Funds. County Auditor-Controller Doug Newland said the transfers were not that unusual. In approving the balanced budget, the county can submit the document to the state before the October 1st deadline.
