(Deadline to file extended)…It is for the November elections.
The Deadline for candidates to file was Friday at 5:00 pm. Extensions were granted in several races in which an incumbent did not file. The extensions are until August 15th at 5:00 pm. In the special districts, extensions were granted for Calipatria Unified School District, Magnolia Union Elementary School district, Mulberry Elementary School District, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, and Seeley Elementary School District. All are 4-year terms. In the City Council races, Calexico has four candidates on the ballot, but neither of the incumbents filed, so they were granted the extension. The Transient Occupancy Tax and the Cannabis Tax issue. The City of El Centro was also granted an extension until August 15th, as one of the incumbents currently serving did not file for re-election.
