(The long 4th of July Weekend is here)…That means fireworks, legal and otherwise.
The result is frightened pets. The Human Society of Imperial County wants to remind everyone to remember and keep your pets safe. They offer some tips. Make sure your pet has a properly fitted collar on with a tag that has current owner information. Make sure your pet is micro chipped. Have a current picture of your pet and save it to your computer. Exercise your pet early, before festivities begin. Make sure indoor pets have their favorite bed, blanket and treats and or toys to distract them to stay calm. For the outdoor pets, make sure all gates and fences are properly closed. If you find a lost pet or lose your pet, contact the animal control officer immediately. Micro chipping is available at the Human Society Imperial County for $25.
