(Be ready)…It is going to get really hot
The National Weather Services say temperatures Thursday and Friday will range fro 109 to 114 degrees. There are 31 Cool Centers around the County. Officials say know where they are and where the closest ones to you are, before going out. A list of Cool Centers are available on the County, Public Health and Imperial Irrigation District websites. Officials offer some tips on dealing with excessive heat. Dress in lightweight, loose fitting clothing, Drink a variety of fluids, including water, fruit juice and sports drinks. Check on neighbors, especially seniors, children and neighbors who live alone. Keep physical activity to a minimum during the hottest part of the day. Stay indoors and out of the sun during the hottest part of the day. Use fans as appropriate. Use cool showers, baths, misting and washcloths. And avoid hot food and heavy meals. Never leave children or animals in a vehicle for any amount of time.
