(One dead, one wounded)….The suspect is still at large
That is the latest update on the shooting Wednesday evening in Brawley. Police Commander Brett Houser gave the update late Thursday morning. He said the investigation is continuing. Police were called at 5:30 Wednesday. The responded to the report of shots fired in the 1000 Main Street. When they arrived at the Filco Gas Station they found a 24-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second gunshot victim, conscious and alert, had fled the scene and d was found a short distance from the area. That victim was transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital for treatment. The victim’s condition is not known. The Commander said the victim’s identification would not be released at this time. The suspect, 27-year-old Eduardo Tolentino, fled the scene in a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, with California License plate number7WUW019. He remains at large, as of last report. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. If he is seen, call 911. Houser said any other information should be directed to the Brawley Police Detectives Unit.
