The City of El Centro is considering housing options for Broadway in downtown El Centro.

The City is drafting a Downtown Residential Overlay that would allow apartments and mixed-use buildings between 4th and 8th Streets. Mixed-use buildings would include buildings with shops on the ground floor and housing above. The Planning Commission will hold hearings on the plans on Tuesday, October 13 and Tuesday, November 10, at 5:30 p.m. The public hearings will be held in City Council Chambers at El Centro City Hall. Noting is required of current property owners, and existing businesses can remain.
