(El Centro to host Senior Appreciation Day)...The event will be held October 8th.

It will be held at Dr. Martin Luther King Sports Pavilion on Park Avenue in El Centro. The city is inviting seniors from across Imperial County to attend. The Cowboy themed event will offer food, games, music, community fun and a lot more. The event will be open to all Imperial Valley residents 60 years of age and over. The theme this year is Seniors, Saddle up. The Best in the West, Our Seniors. It will be held from 9 am to 1 pm. Free transportation to and from Senior Appreciation Day will be available for participating Seniors. Pick-up locations will be available in Brawley, Calexico, Calipatria, Holtville, Imperial, and Westmorland. Seniors who would like to use the free transportation must reserve a spot by Monday, October 5th by calling the El Centro Adult Center at 760-370-0160. The City of El Centro is coordinating the event with the support from community partners, including Imperial County Transportation Commission, Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego and Imperial County.
