(Vehicle fire reported at just before 7 Tuesday morning.)...It was reported on Interstate 8, West of the West Y.

A Car Hauler was burning in the eastbound lanes. The California Highway Patrol says the semi was blocking traffic lanes. The truck driver was out of the vehicle and appeared to be uninjured. The driver was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center as a precaution. Both lanes were blocked to allow crews to put out the fire.. At 7:43 am one traffic lane was opened to traffic. One lane remained closed to allow for cleanup. Fire official said there was asphalt damage to the number two lane. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
