A juvenile is in custody following a threat involving Central Union High School.
On Friday, September 4, 2026, El Centro Police received information from the San Diego and Imperial County Joint Terrorism Task Force that treats had been made regarding Central Union High School. El Centro Police and agnents from the FBI's El Centro Field Office worked with school officials to identify the student believed responsible for the threats. A a result of the investigation, a juvenile was taken into custody. Based on information gathered during the investigation, it is believed this is an isolated incident and there are no additional or ongoing threats. According to authorities, this is an ongoing investigation.
