The City of El Centro wants to hear from residents.

The city wants El Centro residents to take an online survey to help determine what a proposed Community Resilience Campus should look like. The city is looking at a $10 million grant to develop the proposed center. The grant is through the California Strategic Growth Council's Community Resilience Centers Implementation Grant Program. The proposed campus would be developed near the southeast corner of 6th and State Streets in downtown El Centro. The proposal includes a new fire station, and potential uses include emergency shelter and evacuation space, a cooling center, backup power and emergency communications, health and wellness activities and several other possible uses. The survey is available in English and Spanish at www.surveymonkey.com/r/MFT2HNE. The survey will be available through September 9, 2026.
